The Febei was one of the most important and powerful family in the Middle age in Orvieto, that was related with marriages to Clementini, Piccolomini and Coelli.The most famous of which was the Bishop Francesco Maria Febei, important because he wrote dissertations about the guibileo and because opened the library of his beatiful palace, to the people . You can still read the inscription on the lintel of the building “PUBLIC LIBRARY”. Nowadays in Orvieto there is this beatiful Febei Palace and also a square dedicated to this family.
